There are a few small differences between us and the rest of the school. First off, we teach in Redmond instead of Seattle. Second, we are operating under our own business liscense, which is why we do our registration through Redmond Parks and Rec instead of the8thstyle website. Third, you might notice that we do not hold review classes after each series in Redmond. If you are interested in taking a review class, we encourage you to go to Seattle and attend one there.

Tango 101- The Foundation

This series covers the five most common movements of milonguero style tango: changing weight and walking, back ochos exiting with the cross, the rock-rock turn to the left, turn to the right, and the quintessential ocho cortado. We cover ground quickly, focusing on the connection, musicality, and technique necessary to execute each figure gracefully. Be prepared to get close! Previous dance experience and signing up with a partner are both recommended but not required.

No prequisites. This class is for adults, 17+.

Tango 102- Improvising with Confidence

In this series, students learn simple ways to connect and blend the five basic movements into an array of possibilities that will bring endless hours of tango joy. Upon the completion of this series, students have the vocabulary needed to enjoy dancing with all kinds of people in all kinds of situations, to all kinds of music. As with Tango 101, the focus of the series will be on connection and technique. As before, students dance body to body.

Prequisite: Tango 101 or instructors' permission. This class is for adults, 17+.
